...and the Lord of runes, so bored so soon.

Long before the Stars guided to conquest and sanctuary, the Ansei Baral made his tale known 'pon the war waged over the Horde-One-Hundred of Malooc. The Lady of Air parted skies, O listener, to set forth Daibethe's generous rays over a blades made of the soul. That Onsi might advance the war; that Leki might bring grace to the warriors set upon the brink of goblin-ken's destruction. The observant Baral first felt the HoonDing's press when in the corner of his eye a shadow ever growing pulled a veil over his brothers, his sisters. They say in his shout to the heavens, Baral had conjured a Shehai so great it split the mountain and his contingent begged the earth not to shatter. Sparks of fury were outweighed by the curiosity, O listener. And unto those around him did Baral recount,

"It is breath, as it is spirit. It is the Sands-that-Speak brought to skin hard as the Scales. It is so, O brothers, O sisters. And we have yet to win this war."

Totambu heralded many Sword Singers from its stones, with Baral as no exception. Uncovered accounts suggest the man-made-magnificent by the gods' grace had once been little more than a begging boy in the streets, yearning for sustenance from those gracious enough to give it. Some had been, others not. Many days Baral would come to near starving. Many days he would hear naught beyond the accusation of bastardry and poor health. Many days the sand would catch his lungs and leave him wheezing. Those many days were only that, where it was the few days beneath the boot of wealthier kinsmen that his story truly began. An urchin raised to warrior, to commander and more. Baral had made a name for himself as a stalwart and vigilant commander. And so come the call of the HoonDing to purify the lands of the goblin-ken, Baral did answer. And his answer was just as it was swift; a firm hand in their eradication from the lands of Yokuda.

Were it that the murals and legends were true.
